Solid Wall U-Value & Thermal Bridge Assessment

U-value, Psi-value and Chi-value assessment of a solid wall assembly and associated thermal bridges.

Scope

Thermal assessment of the wall assembly and relevant junctions for use within the wider building-energy calculation.

Method

The wall U-value was calculated in BuildDesk. Linear thermal bridges were modelled in Flixo to determine Psi (ψ)-values, while 3D thermal modelling in COMSOL was used to determine Chi (χ)-values for point thermal bridges.

Output

U-, Psi- and Chi-values describing the thermal performance of the wall assembly and its relevant junctions.
