Surface condensation risk

The assessment determines whether internal surface temperatures at thermally critical locations remain sufficiently high under the specified project conditions.

Thermal bridges can create locally reduced internal surface temperatures even where the surrounding wall or façade system has adequate overall thermal performance. Assessment identifies critical locations and determines the minimum internal surface temperature. Where required, it can also include the corresponding surface temperature factor.

2D and 3D assessment

Most façade junctions can be assessed using 2D thermal modelling in Flixo. Typical project packages may include 20–30+ details assessed using consistent materials, boundary conditions and criteria.

Geometrically complex junctions can be assessed using 3D finite-element modelling in COMSOL.
